Building Updates!

It’s hard to imagine that just a few years ago the property in Wamuini was just a field with grass and weeds and now it is so close to becoming a home. Gone are the rows of corn and rusty red dirt, in place stands the future of Precious Kids Center. With the roof completed now all that is left are the finishing touches like plastering the walls and finishing the ceiling and floor. Next we’ll be putting in windows, doors, cupboards, sinks, toilets and soon the rooms with be filled with laughter of these sweet kids. If everything goes according to plan, we should be ready to move in sometime in December!

Here are some pictures of a few finishing touches being put onto the house. And to think it all started with an idea that became a little bit bigger with each child that was brought to Precious Kids Center. Soon we will have a place for them to call their own, where they can learn, play and be accepted for exactly who they are. And I could not have done it without your help, support and prayers.

So today I want to say thank you to everyone who has donated to the building of the new Precious Kids Center. With every gift, from the beginning of the foundation all the way through to the very end, you have made it possible for these dreams to become a reality for these kids. Thank you to those who prayed over me, the new property, the work we are doing, and the children of Precious Kids Center. I could not have even begun to imagine the support I would receive when I first walked onto the property in Wamuini. There it was, just an empty field; and I stood there with an idea much bigger than myself, praying that it could be made possible. God heard my prayers and provided generous people to support me on this journey. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 says “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” And thank you for doing just that! Thank you to everyone along the way who saw the need and said a prayer or donated.

Precious Kids Center, after all, isn’t just a school or a home. It is a place of acceptance for kids, where parents can feel uplifted and hopeful for their children’s futures and find a place where they will be loved and cared for. Where children who have been abandoned and mistreated can finally have a place where they feel safe and free to be exactly who God created them to be. From the roof to the floor, our house is established on the love, support, and encouragement of those around us. And for that I will be forever grateful. Thank you for all of the support along the way that helped turn these once distant dreams into a reality.
