We’ve gotten a bit behind on our introductions of new kids at Precious Kids Center. We have grown so quickly, so we have many new friends that have yet to be introduced. Stay tuned for more posts introducing all of our new precious ones.
The kids at Precious Kids Center come to us with a variety of medical complications, so its not surprising that a lot of them end up admitted to the hospital frequently. Since we are there so often, we have developed a good relationship with the staff at the hospital and they are happy to work together with us to ensure that our kids get the best care possible.
Many times, while children at our home are admitted the staff of the hospital will refer cases to us of children who are abandoned in the pediatric ward or children who are frequently admitted due to neglect or inability of their families to afford the diet and medications they need to stay healthy. Many of these children are not disabled, but other homes won’t admit children with complex medical issues so the staff often turns to us to help these kids. . Many of these children were in the hospital multiple times a month and after coming to us and working with doctors to stay on top of their medication and nutritional needs, they haven’t been admitted in over a year. We have seen God working in their lives and can’t wait to see what they grow to achieve as their health continues to improve.
Located in Kitale, Kenya, the Precious Kids Center serves children with disabilities to provide the support they need to learn, grow, and reach their full potential. Each child is cared for according to their individual needs. Additionally, PKC works to equip parents and educate the community to be more accepting and supportive of children with disabilities.
