Please Pray for Julius and Pamela

We need your prayers for a few of our friends this week.

Julius was born with microcephaly, which means that his brain is underdeveloped, and epilepsy and cerebral palsy on top of that. He has very delayed milestones which cause him to not be able to sit or talk. Last year he was very sick at the beginning of the year and the doctors discovered that he had developed hydrocephalus as a result of a meningitis infection that he had prior to moving into the house. He was losing weight even though he was eating and the doctors couldn’t find a solution. Despite the doctors struggling to find the problem, with the help of your prayers, Julius began to improve. Now the same thing is starting to happen again, so please pray that the doctors will be able to find a solution this time and for healing on Julius’ little body.

Another friend that needs your prayers is Pamela.

I met Pamela on my second trip to Kenya in 2009. She was living with her two children and three of her sister’s children. They were struggling to survive and Pamela is HIV+ so without proper nutrition it was hard for her to gain the strength to go and find work. So I began by sponsoring three of the children to go to boarding school so that she would have a little less of a burden at home. Later, I ended up bring the youngest, Marvelous into the home, so that she could start preschool and be with the other kids.

Pamela has a heart like no one else I’ve ever met. Even though she is sick, she is always willing and more than happy to open her home to children in need. The home that they had when I first met them was one bedroom, and we were able to build them a two bedroom house on their family plot and get them a cow to provide milk.

Pamela now stays with three children who were living on the streets and needed a place to stay. She welcomed them into her home and treats them as her own. She even has legal documents saying that they all belong to her. Now they are doing great knowing that they have a family of their own and a safe place to call home.

Pamela needs your prayers. Her health has been declining this past year and she was in the hospital this past week. The doctor said that she has no other infections and was just giving her IV fluids so that she could stay hydrated and wouldn’t feel neglected by the doctors. Please pray that God will send his healing power so that she can continue to be there to care for her children.
