We’re back!

I’d like to apologize for the long gap in updates, I know its been a while since we’ve updated on what’s going on at Precious Kids Center, so here’s a recap of what we do and a few of the ways that we have grown and expanded over the last year.

Who we serve?

Precious Kids Center is now home to almost 200 children. Over the past few years we have seen many more children in need of a safe place to call home. Some of these children are with us full time and others are with us as boarding school students who are able to go home and spend time with their families during the school holidays. While Precious Kids Center primarily serves children with disabilities in the past few years we’ve identified another need and the Lord has made a way for us to step in and be able to fill in the gaps. One gap that we’ve seen are children that have chronic and severe medical issues. Many are abandoned at hospitals or are forced to go without medications at home because their families cannot afford treatment. So in the last year we’ve been able to give children with sickle cell anemia, diabetes, heart conditions, cancer and other medical issues a safe place to call home and try to get them the best treatment possible.

What we do?

Here at Precious Kids Center we try to serve our children and get the best care possible while showing them that they are loved and accepted unconditionally, exactly as they are, not only by us, but by their Heavenly Father as well. There are the home for our children who live at the center full time, but we have many other services on our campus that allow us to be able to reach out to the community as well. There is a primary school on campus that is open to children with and without disabilities in the community where they are able to come and get a quality education in an integrated setting. We also have two special education teachers that teach our children according to their individual learning needs with the goal to get them to be able to move into the mainstream classroom setting. There are also two occupational therapists that provide therapy for all our kids at the center as well as many children from the community. We were also were able to partner with the local pastor of Cornerstone Church and start a new campus on site so that all of our children are able to attend church weekly.

Thanks for reading! Stay tuned for many more updates to come!
